By reviewer cwang13 2006-11-17 21:40:00I love my Prius although it took me 3 months to get it. I've been driving Prius for a year now, and I am superbly happy with my car! Every time I see the gas price is up again, my first response is that, " I am so glad I've got my Prius!" My MPG is around 45, about twice of any regular car. My engine moves on the screen like a movie, telling me my MPG every second, which really impressed my guests in the car. I've got a fast-lane sticker as well, thanks Arnald for that. Every time I am able to drive 60 mph in the fast lane while other cars are crawling next to me, I am laughing out loud. The benefits are endless. It looks good and feels good. The best part of it - getting thumbs up when another Prius owner passes by just because he/she drives the same car as you! Report this review Your take
By reviewer cindyW 2006-12-14 17:08:12I have had my Prius for more than a year now and absolutely LOVE it. It was a nice change from my high-maintenance 25 mile/gallon Passat wagon to a very low-maintenance 50 mile/gallon Prius. When I first bought the car, I was ready to compromise on the power and acceleration for its fuel efficiency, but I found it just as good as my Passat in terms of acceleration. We took our 2 kids, a dog and a long-weekend worth of luggage to Tahoe many times and it never disappointed me. I did not notice any problems going up and down the hills. Even in the winter time, it did well. I am in general not a very good car owner, i.e., I miss regular maintenance trips and does not offer much TLC for that matter. But my Prius does not seem to mind any of it. It has been working without any glitches so far. Tire pressure however makes quite a bit of difference in terms of gas mileage (5 miles per gallon full pressure vs. low pressure). Many people would tell me of course, this is the case. But the personal experience completely convinced me. On a side note, being able to drive in carpool lane with clean vehicle stickers is a huge bonus too. Report this review Your take
By reviewer kookshubby 2006-12-08 09:23:27My wife bought a Prius nearly two years ago, and she absolutely loves it. I drive it a fair amount, too, so I figured I’d write my own review. The Prius is a great car, with very few shortcomings. It gets great gas mileage (we average around 48 mpg), it is remarkably roomy (we’ve managed to drive to Tahoe with two kids, two adults, a dog, and winter gear all crammed in), and it handles well, even with chains in the snow. The low end acceleration is actually quite peppy, due to the high torque of the electric motor. About the only negative is its high-end acceleration – it doesn’t exactly zip from 70 to 80 mph. Oh, and good luck trying to figure out how to connect jumper cables if you need to give someone else a charge. It's a Toyota, so even though the long-term reliability of the hybrid engine is unknown, there’s a good chance it will last longer than you will want to drive it. Overall it's an excellent car and one you can feel good bout driving. Report this review Your take
By reviewer lo4109 2007-02-23 22:36:46I have had my Prius for 40,000 miles now (2.5 yrs) and I LOVE it. It gets great gas mileage (45 mpg), allows me to drive in the carpool lane, has plenty of backseat room for my kids, and MOST of all, it's a cool car to drive. In this car obsessed state of CA, it's the only car less than $25K that is OK for a movie star or executive to be seen in. Report this review |
