By reviewer greenmom 2006-11-22 00:59:35Green Citizen used to be next to Palo Alto Fry's, where you could drop off used electronics. The current site at Los Altos looks almost too clean and shiny for a recycling center. When I asked one of the staff members there how they made sure that their used electronics got recycled properly, she told me that they put a bar-code on each piece of electronics to trace where it went and they only worked with reputable recyclers. I wish they had literature on the statistics of where electronics got recycled and where the material went afterward. As it is now, I am using them because there are no other alternatives. They are convenient and friendly, and recycle more efficiently (at least according to their brochure). So for now that is good enough for me. Report this review Your take

Prices are also very reasonable. Highly recommend this place to those who want a convenient way to get rid of the old "electronics." Report this review Your take
By reviewer dscarlett 2007-04-15 15:19:33I live in North Carolina and went to Green Citizen when I visited my son and his family in the bay area. Learned a lot about electronic recycling. After the trip to the bay area store to help my son drop off some old computer equipment, I wish we had a service like this close to where I live. I have accumulated a whole life worth of electronic gadgets in my garage, frankly don't know what to do with them. Maybe Greencitizen will open up a couple of stores in North Carolina.
