I came across Sensitive Solutions while searching for someone who would get rid of the rats in my attic without using any poisons. I have two small children, a dog, and a wife, and the last thing I wanted was for one of them to accidentally eat some rat poison (yes, even my wife). But I quickly found that my options were limited – most pest control companies are not willing to put forth the extra effort of placing traps and returning periodically to empty them. Then I found Sensitive Solutions, which is really just one guy – Richard. I initially had some difficulty getting in touch with him – he didn’t return my phone calls for over two weeks – but eventually I was able to set up an appointment for him to come and evaluate my rat problem. (He told me the reason he didn’t return my phone calls was because he had lost his cell phone. Don’t know if this was true or not, but subsequently he was always good at returning my calls). Richard quickly found and sealed the places where the rats were gaining access to my attic, then put baited traps in place. He returned a few days later to check and empty the traps, and in no time my rat problem was gone. I’m not sure if Richard has a no poison policy when it comes to other varmints, but he has an intimate knowledge of household pests and strives to find and treat the root cause of an infestation, not just the symptoms. As such I think he can more effectively employ alternative methods of eradication, and more judiciously use chemicals and poisons if necessary. During one of his visits to my house I asked him about an ant problem that I was having. Some ants had been finding their way into my kitchen, and the night before I had sprayed vinegar on the entire trail and cleaned up all the dead ants. Richard immediately identified the specific species of ant that was invading my house, described to me their behavior patterns and eating habits, but said that to do anything about it he would need to come back when they were present so he could trace their trail back to the nest and address the problem there. Another pest control company might have just sprayed insecticide in my house without even trying to determine where the ants were coming from. It's been a while since I employed Sensitive Solutions, but I recall their rates as being about average or maybe slightly higher than average. You may want to call around to find out for yourself. Personally, I don't mind paying a slight premium for the types of services Sensitive Solutions provides.
