By reviewer shopper6387 2006-10-09 10:39:10Westside is cheaper than Whole Foods overall and comes right to my door. However, the quality is varied depending on the item and the week. Organic delivery services seem a bit cheaper than buying items separately in the local store -unless the items were on special in the stores. Westside organics, like some of the other services, have both a la carte or a set box choice. The site was easy to use and it gives the option to swap out items you don't want even out of the set box choices - which is what I did. It's convenient because I can choose from a long list of produce or grocery items and it shows how much my "box" costs based on the swapped items. Since the cart shows the price and quantity for each of the items, I compared the box to Capay Farms which does not like you swap. I noticed that westside was definitely more expensive - so you do pay for the convenience and the choice option. The overall quality was satisfactory even though some of the more delicate produce like lettuce tends to look a bit wilted. The service does put in one ice pack in the box in attempt to keep the produce fresh but on a hot summer day - one is just not enough so be sure to ask them to leave it some place shady or cool. By reviewer Liz 2007-01-29 09:47:51I have tried various organic delivery services, and Westside, so far, has offered the best quality consistently. They have a good choice, and produce is very fresh. You can easily change your box to reflect your needs for any given week. Website is easy to use, and customer service has been quick and efficient the couple of times I've contacted them. They also have a points system which allows you to build up points towards $10 off a box. Since I have the largest box every week, my points build up quickly.
