Super Dog!

Flipping through a copy of Consumer Reports at the dentist office, a short article caught my eye on the fortified water boom. In the battle for stomach share, mainstream manufacturers have been adding everything imaginable to the simplest drink on earth. In addition to vitamins, flavor, electrolytes, manufacturers are now adding herbs, weight-loss aides (remember Skinny Water?) and even positive thoughts to “raise consciousness in humanity” (just check out Aquamantra). Of course, this is no surprise given the number of commercials I see for Propel, VitaminWater or SobeLife every time I watch sports. Can’t even imagine what the commercial breaks for the Olympics would be like.
In any case, what topped it off for me was the small mention of fortified water for dogs, FortiFido. Four different flavors of enhanced water for the family pet to promote strong bones, fresh breath, healthy bones and joints. We have a dog and we love her, feed her and exercise her. She’s done just fine drinking plain ol’ tap water. If it’s good enough for her owners, I think it’s good enough for Bailey!
What a crazy world we live in!

I saw an ad for that recently and thought it was ridiculous. Ugh.
Hey Cindy, come on over and report how you’re doing with avoiding the dryer for the Quit Now Challenge!
I saw this at my local grocery store, and could not believe it. I even took a picture of it to show my husband. And yes, they had all 4 flavors there, each flavor having a different-colored label. Just what we need, bottled water (in plastic bottles!) for dogs.
Chile is right — Ugh.
You have GOT to be kidding! Are our priorities mixed up or what?!!
Most of the world doesn’t have safe access to drinking water and yet we bottle water for our dogs?!? And, I have to say, my not-so-bright Dalmatian actually prefers puddle water to that out of the tap. From time to time there is some hacking and barfing, but he doesn’t think twice about doing it again and again! I guess he must be on some kind of doggie greywater challenge… :o)
It would probably cost a fortune and my kelsey wouldn’t drink a bit of it. Her favorite is soapy shower water. She likes to drink outside the shower door while we’re in there. She drinks so much she just pukes it back up but it’s her FAVORITE. Weird “kids!”
Dogs need bottled water?? Humans don’t even have enough adequate access to safe drinking water and we are using plastic to bottle water for dogs? And, I have to say… I have a Dalmatian that much prefers day old puddle water to even the fresh stuff out of the tap. And, just like Heather, he then promptly yacks it right back up. Then, goes back to the puddle to start all over again…
